One Special Christmas

One of my favorite story to tell about Deva was Christmas 1946 when Deva got a tricycle and I got my first bicycle from Santa. Deva was 3 years old and I was 12 and I had never been on a bicycle before. Deva was not happy she didn't get a bicycle too. Daddy was going to help me learn to ride so Deva and I waited out on the sidewalk for him to come out and I finally went in the house to get him. When we came out my new bike was gone and much to our wondering eyes there was Deva at the other end of the block RIDING my bicycle. Well I realized right then (and I think Daddy did too) that life was going to be adventurous and interesting ahead and that it was!

Deva was always smiling, had a good sense of humor and fun to be around. Fortunately we visited with her about a month ago and enjoyed that time with her very much. Bill and I will certainly miss her presence but have many fond memories. Roy, Jay, Morgan (and Ford if he were here) loved their Aunt Deva and they too have many memories of times spent with her and Christine and Thom.

May you rest in peace Deva alongside your beloved Lloyd.

Your loving sister,
Mary Esther
